Guest QR codes

TableThat table's bill, and the menu

This is the useful part. A printed code points at a target — "this restaurant's ordering page" — and the destination is resolved fresh on every scan.

So you can change your domain, your slug, or your ordering setup without reprinting anything. Old stickers keep working.

Paying at the table

A table code can open the guest's own bill, where they can pay by card from their phone.

Two behaviours worth knowing:

  • The bill is re-read at the moment of payment. If someone else at the table paid while a guest had the page open, the guest is charged the remaining balance, not the stale one they were shown.
  • Item claims are advisory. A guest marking which items are theirs reduces what the next payer is offered; it does not prevent anyone paying any amount that fits the balance.

Table codes are the one exception to "old stickers keep working"

A retired table code is not followed to its replacement. Every other code type keeps working after a change; a table code does not, because by the time it is scanned the replacement may be serving a different table. Replace the sticker when you retire the code.

Printing

Codes can be downloaded and printed from Management → Advertising → QR codes. Check the printed code with a real phone before ordering a hundred of them.
